Quincy Clarifies Relationship with Biological Father Al B. Sure! on Angela Yee’s Podcast

Quincy Brown, the adopted son of music mogul Diddy, has recently opened up about his relationship with his biological father, R&B singer Al B. Sure!. During a guest appearance on Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast, Quincy shared insights into their current dynamic, explaining that he views Al more as a friend than a father figure.

In the interview, Quincy mentioned that while they maintain a cordial relationship, he doesn’t see Al B. Sure! as a traditional father figure. “We’re cool now. I just talked to him a couple of days ago. He was congratulating me on my album,” Quincy shared. However, he added that their bond feels more like a friendship, saying, “He tends to try and do the dad thing a lot, but that’s not really where we’re at in life. We’re homies more than anything.”

As Quincy explained, their relationship has evolved over time. “We’re two grown men now. We can talk about anything and everything. It’s not about anything else,” he added, emphasizing the shift from a father-son relationship to one based more on mutual respect and camaraderie.

Quincy, who was raised by Diddy after his mother Kim Porter’s relationship with the Bad Boy Records CEO, has always had a unique family dynamic. After Porter’s split from Al B. Sure!, she and Diddy were in an on-again-off-again relationship, during which Diddy helped raise Quincy alongside his biological children.

Earlier this year, Al B. Sure! made a public effort to reconnect with Quincy following some tumultuous times. In March, the singer posted an open letter on social media, expressing his desire for reconciliation. “The door is wide open. You’re safe here son! I love you,” he wrote, signaling his willingness to repair their relationship.

While the past has had its complexities, it seems Quincy and Al B. Sure! are on a path toward a more amicable relationship. With Quincy’s career in music and acting continuing to grow, the supportive bond between him and Al B. Sure! may evolve further, even if it remains rooted in friendship rather than traditional family roles.

Quincy’s comments on Lip Service have shed light on his current relationship with Al B. Sure!, highlighting the shift from a father-son dynamic to one of mutual friendship. As both navigate their respective lives, it’s clear that despite the challenges, they continue to find common ground.
